change needle with out removing carb

after changing my needle from emn to emp i feel the performance is less. will change is back to emn but wondering can this be done without removing the carb

Yeah. Take of the tank and loosen the clamps on the carb. Rotate the carb to the left and you can take the slide out.

FCR carb.  You do not need to take the slide out.  May not even need to rotate the carb.

Have you actually done this before? It's a little different situation, but I once tried doing the same thing to remove the float bowl and change my pilot jet (mikuni carb). The black oil separator/recovery box was in the way and didn't allow me to rotate it enough. The hose clamps were in such tight spots to remove it that I just ended up pulling the carb instead.

Yeah mate, needle and main jet changes can be done with carb installed

Yea, last Saturday. It will twist just enough to get to the screws on top. The float bowl? No. You have to remove the recovery tank to get it to twist to the right. This is on a stock carb.

I can do it in under 5 minutes. In don't even rotate carb. Remove seat, tank, and carb top. Snap the throttle fast and grab the needle when the slide tops out .

If you have 4MM and 5MM ball end Allen drivers, it is a snap to do, just pull the seat and tank. Needle nose pliers (or a little bit of vinyl tubing the same ID as the needle to 'grab it')

Or borrow your girl's tweezers to extract the needle, if either of the above is unavailable.... ?
