Am contemplating a YZ tank for an 02 WR426. Should I be concerned about the seat mating to the tank since the angles are a little different ??

Yes,
You should be concerned. The YZ tank will not mate up with a WR seat. The WR seat will be too fat and too short at the top. Clarke Manuf. sells the seat and tank combo fairly cheap. :)

Yes, to get a proper fit you will also need the YZF seat.
