2014 yz450F stalling

Recommended Posts

when my bike is warmed up, and i take off the bike stalls, it is when i barely give it any gas. If i hold a steady throttle it will be fine but as soon as i let off and give it just a little gas it will stall.. it happened to me today when the bike was started cold and after it was raced.  i thought it was just the bike not being warmed up, but i went over a jump today and it stalled in the air.. this was after 15 minutes of racing.. (see video) not to mention the finished line was a turn away...

i have a rekluse installed, but it has been fine until today. i have not troubleshoot anything but thinking while driving home from the track, maybe my idle is too low? or maybe my ignition map could be bumped up. my current ignition map is all 0, just the fuel is adjusted for the pipe.

I'm sure someone that actually knows something will come along soon, but when you say Rekluse I take it you mean auto? I have the rekluse manual I just haven't put it in yet so I'm wondering. Also if you adjusted the fuel, have you tried any other maps?

i just wanted to say that stalling is not very common with a rekluse.. i just have the basic exp 2.0 with heavy weights i love it..  install yours i am sure you will love it too..

Have u tried turning up the idle adjustment (choke knob) i had to on mine when i first got it

that is what i will mess with first. what is your idle RPM at?

All good. The installed gap is the space between the rekluse pressure plate and exp disc. For the 2010 it's quite simple; Just remove the clutch cover and in the middle of the pressure plate there is an adjuster with a bunch of tick marks for adjustments. Remove the set screws and use a 5mm hex to adjust. What the manual describes is to back out the adjuster until it's free and turn in until moderate pressure is felt. From there go 1 full turn plus 2 tick marks. Reinstall set screws until flush with adjuster.

Rekluse has an awesome manual detailing how to do this for free on their website. I hope that helps and don't forget to set your free play gain at the lever for proper function.

With the Rekluse EXP 2.0 or 3.0, the bike uses the OEM pressure plate, so he has no such adjuster as mentioned.  See Rekluse's web site for their online manual and setup guide.

Carbed bikes stall like that for one of two reasons, normally.  Either the idle is simply too slow, or the idle mixture is too rich, which causes the engine to fall back to idle speed so rapidly that it drops below idle and stalls.  If raising the idle a bit doesn't do it, you might have a shop try checking the CO levels at idle with their diagnostic tool.
