I can see why your wife is seeing red! Lol

I am sure after all of this my wife wouldn't mind but we live in the country. I'd track dirt everywhere inside.

It will probably be kept in the barn or my parents garage next door. My wife and I are poor newly weds living in a single wide. No room to spare anymore with the baby.

I completely understand.. be sure and lock the barn doors if you store it there. You never know who is watching you ride and park the bike in the barn. Also, whoever stole your first bike may come back for your replacement bike. Be aware of your surroundings, and keep an eye out for people that don't fit in with the area where you live.

Glad the insurance paid the claim.

Glad to hear you'll be able to get another bike. Maybe if you talk to your dealer and explain your situation, they would be able to order another bike for you and sell it at the same price.

Plenty of dough for a 07-11 then completely mod it.  :ride:  Well my favorite any ways.

I brought my WR into the house to work on it last winter because it was too cold on the garage. After I was done I started it up and rode over to the couch, but couldn't really get much further without really tearing the place up. But it sounds even more awesome indoors! Yes, the wife was out of town.

Sounds more like the $ should go into a rainy day fund until you're financially more secure....

But how do they compare power wise? I liked being able to wheelie in 4th with stock gearing. I'd also need new forks too right?

A pipe and Hotcams make the bike a rocket.  The front forks are decent for someone that rides at your level.

Power wise no problem. Carbs work very well. I would do all the free mods. In addition send the carb to zip tye racing and tell him to do all the mods including adjustable leak jet. The front forks have a well known defective base valve that is easily changed through Racetech gold valves. It gets rid of a spring in the base valves in order to use shims like all the other bikes including the YZ's.

I went to the local Yamaha house and the salesman laughed in my face when I told him how much I paid for the leftover 2012 at another dealer.

I guess finding another good deal might take a while :p

A good deal can always be found somewhere if you're patient. That salesman is an idiot if he doesn't realize that.

Glad it worked out man. Keep it chained up even in the garage or barn and do everything you can to slow then down. At some point this could happen again. Used bikes are like taking a bus, there's one every half hour. Deals abound.

I went back to the dealer. They offered me a 2013 for around $200 more than I paid for the 2012. It looks like it will be around $5,700. What do you guys think?

not bad at all.

So after I got home my wife showed me the quote. ImageUploadedByThumper Talk1412855480.599638.jpg
She was the one who went to the dealer while I was at work.

I think they gave us the run around between me negotiating over the phone and bikes they found becoming "unavailable" when they called other dealers.

The price on their quote doesn't match what he told ms on the phone.

I found a 2012 at another dealer in Texarkana but the salesman wanted $6,799.

I paid ($5,550 before tax+++) $6,225.14 out the door on the first one. I'm trying not to spend more than that.

Do you guys have any advice here? We are only in our mid-twenties so we aren't too familiar with all of negotiating stuff.

The question is are you willing to let the bike go for $300? Thats still a very good deal. The last deal you got for the 2012 was great. It could be some time before one like that comes along again.

Good point. They are also willing to plate it for me for a couple hundred more.
