14 yz 450 in the woods

I'm considering doing a race at the end of the month. The course is a combination of mx track, woods and man made obstacles. This is a once a year race so I'm not going to revalve for it. What I need is some advice on what clicker adjustments to make. My concern is dealing with roots. Lots of roots.

would i pretty much leave the rebound as is? Fir the rear should i focus in hs or ls compression?

Both.  You want as much compliance as you can get away with from the compression.  Add more back as it becomes necessary to deal with bottoming, etc.  The rebound needs to be loose enough to return the wheel quickly without spring-boarding off obstacles.

nope. And all the trails are closed due to fire season. Cant even ride except in the dunes. Likely won't get to ride any dirt before the event. Likely just gonna leave her be and suffer through the beating

reduce your tire pressure to 10 or throw in tubes and reduce to 6-8, this will help you roll over roots, and obstacles.  Detune for less arm rip and have fun.  We too have some hare scrambles that I run my 14 yz 450 in.  It is way too much bike but fun
