2015 brake options

You dont need a big rotor upfront just get a Tusk steelbraided brake line off rocky mount. Its a rebaged galfer and even says galfer on it. If you bleed it good with the steel braided line it will feel as good if not better than just buying a oversize rotor that is 10-20mm bigger than stock.

Problem with a OS rotor is they're more prone to damage due to their larger more exposed size...

As mentioned before, a steel braided line will make a noticeable difference in lever feel and brake performance.

All that being said, a 270mm over-sized rotor and braided lines are the ultimate in performance....

Here's what I have found with front brakes on Yamaha's over the last 5 years:

#1 mod: 270mm rotor

#2 mod: replace Yamaha master cylinder with Honda master cylinder

#3 mod: braided brake line

#4 mod: Honda caliper

My 14 has a master and caliper off an 06 CRF250R, a Braking 270mm rotor, Galfer stainless brake line, and Galfer carbon pads.  One finger stoppies all day without feeling grabby.

This is news to me. I've always been under the assumption they were nylon braided rubber with a hard plastic covering. Then again I've never had any reason to cut them apart to investigate further.

They are nylon or at least were in 2010 I shredded one to pieces on my 250.
