2014 mapping data base why don't you guys post your maps so guys like me can get a baseline map?

Does anyone actually have any experience in tuning or is it just throwing maps in that other people have made? I haven't found any reference to what should be changed and by how much... Example could I run all +7s, what would happen? How much the ignition timing have a effect vs fuel advancement?

The base map for all EFI YZF's is all zeros, so if you put that into your '14, you'll have the '14 base map, not the '15.  Without having the actual timing plotted, you wouldn't be able to compare them directly.

I'll have to apologize. I'm used to creating any map I want (on the car side) not just adjusting the existing map. I didn't know if the ecu could be completely flashed with the 15 map baseline to completely replace the 14 map. I guess picking up a 15 ecu would be the way to go if the basemap is not replaceable (not just editable as there are limits with the power tuner)

The maps I use are from mxa I try them till I find a good one it has worked for me for my 450 and 250 I would never put in a map that someone says Theye just made up I google mxa mapping for what ever bike I've had good results.

The other consideration is this: The '15 is very significantly more powerful than any of its predecessors (or much of anything else in its class, really), and I doubt that it all comes from the fuel/ignition mapping.  It could well be that the specific timing and fuel delivery programming for the '15 would be ill suited to the '14, or the other way 'round, for that matter.

The 14 and 15 are exactly the same only diff is mapping timing is the same the map that comes stock on the 14 runs lean and pops the 15 doesent thats it once u remap the 14 guess what it runs like a 15 same hp same torque

I'm sure Gray was referring to the 2010-13 models. And no, mapping is different internally between the 15 vs 14. Yes, you can load a map in the 14 to make it run like a 15, but it will never have the stock map the 15 has...

. Look monk lets put bad feelings aside you're a smart guy I would like to bury the hatchet. Mxa maps are very good maps there tested by the pros a lot gos into their testing the maps work.

Anyone else running the MXA map seem to think it runs hog rich?  Bike smells like fuel when it's running.

 

I just threw on a Dubach slip-on silencer too.  Anyone have a good map to use with that?  Running the MXA map with that one seemed a little weaker on the low end vs. the stock pipe.

I've got the MXA map, seems pretty darn good on mine for moto. When I ride it in the indoor arena it is a bit rich but that place is goofy, on my 2 stroke i had run my jetting for 75 degrees in there when it was only 35 on there or it would act rich. Lots of CO2...

Oh I love the way the MXA/stock pipe runs.  I just get relatively low fuel range and the smell of un-burnt fuel is unmistakable.

 

I thought the Dubach exhaust was weaker with the MXA map on the real low end.  Couldn't tell through the middle.  They supplied a couple different maps to try so I'll see what those yield.

So I just tried out the other two maps that Dubach suggests for their silencer.  Much, much improved over the MXA map (for use with that pipe).  Way stronger and cleaner feeling low end.  I'll try to post the image here.

were did you see the maps for the dubach? Do they have one for the full system?

They emailed the maps with the pipe I got from them.  I assume it's the same for the full system?  They're very helpful over the phone if you want to find out for sure from them.

 

Edit:  I ended up with the second one down, for now.  The first one had a bit of a "jerk" off idle, but the second one still had enough snap on the real low end for me to loft the front wheel in the air easily.  We'll see how it does on a real ride instead of just cruising around the pavement.

Note: This map is what MXA found to work best. It is richer all the way across the board to help with misfiring and pop. Works well with aftermarket exhausts.

So what map could be put on a 2014 to give it the same stock setting as a 2015?  Has that already been covered?

I think the only way is buying the 15 ecu. I thinking about doing it. It is cold here and we been riding indoors with a lot of tight turns and jumps right out of a turn. I swap bikes with my buddy all the time and the mapping on the 15 has a lot more bottom end even with the 48 sprocket. I have tried several different things with my mapping to duplicate his but it dont get close. I should be riding a brand new 14 tomorrow hopefully to make sure its just not my bike
