BK question re transmission and con rod

BK,
Do you do anything special to the gears or rod? Anything like cryogenic tempering or shot peening? How often do you change these components on a race bike? Just curios, they seem to be the weak links in the engine and before I put mine back together I could have the trans and rod shot peened.

I really can't comment on the parts we use on our race bike, however, I don't think shot peening is a bad idea. I don't know alot about cryogenic freezing but I know some people swear by it. I'd do more research and then make my decision. We inspect the parts you mentioned every 5 hours and replace them when necessary.
