I'm a college student in the Society of Automotive Engineers. We are building a small formula one type car and using a yz400 engine. We NEED an electric starter for the SAE competition. I saw an old post that Les 2 Roues sells one for a yz426 but I'm having problems contacting them. Would this bolt onto a 400 just the same? Does any one in America build something similar? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Check out our modest website, look at the 2002 car. There is a pic of the engine in now, but the pictures are large/take a while to load. I'll get that page changed soon (by the weekend). Thanx DPW.

In the March issue of RacerX there is an electric start for the YZF, in the new products section. Sorry I don't have the magazine with me so can't tell you the name of the company. Maybe some one else has the issue handy, otherwise I'll post the name of the company tonight.

Sounds like a fun project, any pictures ?
