New 2014 or 2015?

Recommended Posts

Hello all! I'm going to get a new bike this fall probably after the race season. Currently have a 2011 kx250f. Raced moto most of my life (pushing 39yo now) but have really gotten into woods racing the last cpl of years. Race the Vet B 35+ class in HS and moto. Wondering if I should go with a leftover '14 for around $5500-$6000 OTD or spend the extra $$ to get the '15? Anyone have thoughts/opinions or have a '15 yet?

This ^^^.   Buy "leftover" new. Not enough change between years to pay 25% more. Of course enjoying having the newest thing out the door can also be fun and has value, but just not enough value for me. I feel better about paying a great price for an awesome bike. The reviews are out on the 15s, and they have been slightly reworked (lighter subframe, 4-position bars, etc.), but even the reviewers say you probably won't notice the difference. Except for the frame, you could add every refinement yourself to the '14 and still come out $1000s ahead.

I agree. Bike is basically unchanged. Pegs and clamp adjustments are pointless to us. I'm in the same boat. Selling the 13's so new 14's here we come
