Does anyone know where to download the Manuel or know how to reset the mixture at idle with this tool? Thanks

That was my post above.  Here is a write-up that applies to the WR450.  The YZ connection is different obviously but the operation of the FI Tool is the same

1. Have the ignition button turned OFF!

2. Unplug the black quick-connectors on the ecu and plug in the green wire connector from the diagnostic tool into the ecu connector.  These tools do not come with a quick disconnect for the WR450F.  I had to buy a Sumitomo 3-pin HM 090 male end. -

  http://www.cycleterminal.com/hm-sealed-series-090.html

3. Hook the alligator clamps from the diagnostic tool to the bikes battery.  Display on tool will read "connecting" but it is not really connecting.  You must complete step 4 below before the tool will do anything.  Do not press any buttons until you get to step 4.

4. While holding the "Mode" button down on the tool, turn on the bikes ignition button and then release the "Mode" button. The word "Diag" now shows on tool's display.  Do NOT start the engine at any point while the tool is connected.

5. Press the up button.  "CO" shows up on tool's display

6.Press the "Mode" button . "C1" shows on display.

7. Press "Mode" button again.  "C1"  shows up with a "0" next to it.  Now you are ready to set the CO Level.

8. Pressed the up button and display of "0" increases to "1"

9. Continued pressing the ^ button until you get the desired CO setting. The new CO level is now set.  ( I went with a setting of 10).  I have seen it reported that a setting of 17 has resulted in a 5% CO reading on the exhaust. I've been told that this is too rich.

10. Turn the bikes ignition button off.

11. Disconnect alligator clamps from battery.

12. Disconnect tool from ecu

13. plug ecu connectors back together.

14. You can now crank your bike NEVER reconnect the tool with the engineicon1.png running nor with the ignition on.

Just curious, what's the reason you're doing this on a yz?

A reasonable question.

Bike has a lean condition at idle that parts haven't resolved, a lot of parts. I even broke down and took it to a dealer and they couldn't fine anything wrong. They said they checked tps and remapped at idle but I just found that to be bs. My tps read 12 degrees when it should be 15-19. For fun I went to a co of 6. Bike seems to run better than before but We'll see what happens at the track this weekend. Thanks for your input I appreciate it

So ended up with co +5 (+6 seemed too rich was 0 before) and bike runs perfect, no hesitation, deceleration popping or sputters. Will this have any negative effect?

Nice to hear, glad you like it

That won't hurt anything that's like being a turn richer on a fuel screw

Me and some riding buddies are going to buy the diagnostic tool so we can set our CO levels on our 12 WR450's. We've got one buddy with a 12 YZ450. Does anybody know the procedure for the YZ being that it doesn't have a ignition switch to turn on? How do you get it to connect?

Thanks

Stewart

To connect with a YZF, the device needs either internal batteries like the tuner, or an external power supply.

Ok I get that, but in the first post procedure #4 for the WR he states (While holding the "Mode" button down on the tool, turn on the bikes ignition button and then release the "Mode" button. The word "Diag" now shows on tool's display). Since the YZ doesn’t have an ignition switch how do you get it to “Diag” mode without that step? Or will the YZ just go straight to “Diag mode when you press and hold the “Mode” button without having a ignition switch to turn on?

Thanks
Stewart

You will use the on/off switch on the harness as the ignition on the yz models. The rest of the procedure is the same

So that means my buddy with the YZ will have to buy the $185 dollar sub lead to make the tool work with his bike?
