09 yz 450f hot start

hey I have just got a 2009 yz450f and wont to know how to use the hot start. when it is hot and I go to start it I use the hot start it only works sometimes can you please help

With my 06, I pull the hot start and hold it open for 5-10 seconds before kicking it over. You gotta hold it open while kicking and as soon as it fires, release the hot start.

yes I am 13 turning 14 and I do have a yz450f

You have a hot start lever on your clutch perch on the handlebars right? Pull the lever and hold it for 5 or 10 seconds before you try to start it. And dont let the lever back out until it fires. Then as soon as it fires let go of the little lever.

Mine usually starts in 1 or 2 kicks.

what does the hot start do no the 09 does lean the fuel or what

It opens a circuit that lets a little more air in to lean the mixture making it easier to start once the engine is up to temp
