Too Old to Learn?

Ok. This is my first time posting on here, in fact I rarely post anything on line at all... But over the past 6 months I became involved with the greatest guy on Earth and he is a life long lover of dirt bikes. My kids and I all go out to spend time with him while camping and riding.. We have met some of his friends in the dirt bike community and every one seems very cool and down to Earth..

Now, I am not a girly girl... I love x games, MMA and UFC fights, grew up playing football in the streets... And TBH this whole new world is exciting and I totally love EVERYTHING about the bikes.. The sound, the smells, the adreneline ... JUST EVERYTHING

I want to share a bit of that world with him. My 16 yr old daughter thinks the whole thing is amazing and wants to learn to ride. Im not looking to invade his space, not at all... Just think it would be amazing to share a bit of his hobby

So here's my question.. Am I too old to learn? Im 38 yrs old... and have never ridden ..

Any feedback would be appreciated

I like this thread.  I don't feel so strange getting such a late start.  Got my first bike 2 years ago, actually got it RUNNING last year (1996 DR350-boy is that pig heavy for me).  I'm hooked.  I'm building a 97 Honda CR125 now, hope to have it ready next year.  Anyone else love to wrench as much as they like to ride?

Take it easy, and enjoy.  It is a dangerous sport if you don't have a lot of respect for the machines.  Especially as we get older we don't bounce as well.

Start out with a small low power bike and learn at a slow comfortable pace.  You are not too old.  Have fun.
