Co adjustment

Did my adjustment tonight. Took about 40 seconds, pretty awesome!! Was able to make a harness out of the 2 that came with tool.

Bought it on eBay. No instruction at all!! Do a search here and you will find all the info you need. Pretty straight forward.

What year do you got and mods?

What problems where you getting before the adjustment? If you don't mind my asking

I have a new 450 with the stop. Air box and pea shooter out and in runs awesome

Just getting caught up in the threads about poor starting and such.

My bike ran great as well. But, the idle is way to lean from the factory. Mine was not a real hard starter. CO 7 what is Yamaha is telling the dealers. Probably good for a no mod bike. We have found that 15 -20 is good, I run 15 could of run 14. It gives better and smother power at the bottom hit. No boil over on hot days or red header. Starts near perfect. Even if you stall it hot. You think you don't need it until you have it.

Has anyone checked exhaust with sniffer to see what the various settings result in?

I have mine set to 17 and that gives a reading of 5% Co with a exhaust sniffer.

Thanks.   What CO level should we be aiming for?  What is the point at which we become too rich?

I believe this (5%) is high, a race setting.

 

I also believe 2.5-3% would be a good target for non-race settings.
