Michigan Snowpack for Lower Michigan

For work today, I drove south to Lake. Then Northeast to Alger. Further North to Rose City then back down to West Branch. When I finished up in West Branch, I drove back North of N. Higgins Lake towards Fife Lake finally home to Traverse City.

Not really sure how many miles, but I did notice the snow is disappearing quickly. Still covered everywhere, but lots of ground exposed in areas near Prudenville and Roscommon.

I'm seeing the same thing around the Midland area.  I'm hoping that equates to decently snowfree trails for next weekend!  Leaning toward parts of Gladwin county for a first ride.

So, these areas of low cover in wooded areas, or along the side of the highway or a wide open field, haha. I mean those areas always go early and first with mild temps and a lack of additional snow. Just wondering for my own knowledge.

I'm at the western end of Allegan county, and for now I'm just glad I can safely check for traffic when I pull out of my driveway. Still have a foot or so in the exposed parts of my yard.

As I look out the window right now, it's snowing pretty hard.  Hopefully it doesn't start to pile up, for God's sake.

 

I'm holding on to Sunday, 54 and sunny, I know there will be some nutcased out there on two wheels...One of them should be me.

I was up by our place last weekend. Off of 115 between  Clare and Cadillac. So figure around Marion. Still 12-14 inches in the woods.  I bet you have at least

2-3 weeks

Man, that's crazy. I was hoping most of it was thawed by now like it is down near Ann Arbor. I guess all we can do is hope for some warm weather!

I was in Cadillac today. Despite the downpour, snow cover is over a foot in most places. Driving through Meauwataka, it was still 18" to 2 feet in the woods and hills.

C'mon now. We have a Wally World, Tractor Supply and the New Hudson Inn. We are happnin. Spent my teen years in Walled Lake. Lived in Stratford Villa after I got married and moved into New Hudson in "88".
