The allen screw treads in my case have stripped out. I tapped them to the next size up. The O.E. part looks like a set screw. The one I replaced it with is just a allen screw. It doesnt leak. Is there any problems that may result from my repair?

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I wouldn't worry about it if it isn't leaking. It's a pain the butt way to learn a lesson, 8 ft lbs ain't much.
