I think my clutch is starting to slip. Is there any adjustment beside the cable near the lever or should I just tear it down and be prepared to replace the plates? How much will new clutch plates cost? Any help is appreciated.

There are two adjustments... one on your perch and another near the lever on the motor. Which bike are you riding? Also running with full synthetic oil will cause slippage.
New plates are about 10$ each and you have 9 friction plates and 8 clutch plates.

hope this helps
