How's it going guys?

Just picked up a 08 wr450f and want to drain the coolant and add engine ice instead.

unfortunately don't have the service manual.

how do i drain ALL the coolant from the bike?

will 1/2 gallon of engine ice be enough?

Thanks!

There is a drain plug with a copper washer on the water pump side.

Start the motor, open the drain, take of the radiator cap, shut off the motor.

let it drain

Start the motor again for 5 sec

Drain some more.

Close drain bolt.

Add fluid to top of radiator fins.

Start motor.

Watch for swirling in the radiators when throttle is applied and big bubbles (air pockets)

Add more coolant to top of fins if needed.

Put cap back on.

Ride it

Check levels again.
