I tried putting on a polysport Halo light on my bike but the CDI box was in the way and then the tabs for the CDI box hit the back of it when the bars turn. I was thinking of cutting the bracket to keep the cable and wire holders where they should be but where have guys mounted the CDI box? on the side of the frame by the neck? if so how did you mount it on the frame? I wasn't sure if I could drill and tap for screws there or would the frame loose strength doing that?

I found this thread but wasn't sure if there's any other good way of moving the CDI box.
