Oil weight

Hellow everybody I'm picking up a 2009 yz450f this Sunday an it does not come with a service Manuel soo I wanna know why when I looked up the specs it tells me that the oil type recommended is 20w50 an I just bought two quarts of 10w40 yamalube, any cons with 10w40? if transworld recommends 20w50?

10w 40 is fine, that's all I run

Especially this time of year.  Look at the temperature graph in the manual.  20w-50 is way too heavy for New Jersey right now
