Ergos 07-11 vs 12+

Recommended Posts

One of the things I really like about my 09 is how well it fits me. I'm 6'1 235lbs and I'm very very comfortable standing up on the 09. To those of you who have made the switch from the 07-11 WR to the 12+, how is the ergos? I'm a bit concerned considering it is a smaller 250F frame.

2003-2006  Steel (different from YZ)

2007-2011  Aluminum (different from YZ)

2012-2014  Aluminum (similar to 2009 YZ250)

There is some confusion. I know this about the WR.

I was referring to the 10-13 yz250f frames, bc that is now what the 12+wr is. So my logic is that anything that fits the 10-13 yz250f frame wise, should fit the 12+ WR.

I'm going to need the get those pegs back and down since the bike is smaller.

There will not fit the new YZ250 frame.

Someone posted that Fastway/PMB is now selling the hardware to allow you to run the pegs in the lowboy position. I ended up modifying my stock peg brackets to allow the Fastway pegs to mounted lowboy style. Big difference.

KX Hi +1 degree, GYT-R mounts (+10mm up, +5mm forward) and Fastways lowboy...bike fits good now. I'm 6'1" 255lbs.

Yep, you may find the newer ones have a smaller feel, but it could be a good thing if you do some lower footpegs. A thinner bike is super easy to adapt as you're aware, but not if it's cramped. I adjusting fore/aft or up/down will make the older models feel a bit portly.

Or if you're like me and want to avoid the mouth-open blank stare that a lot of money may be spent soon I'd simply not ride the newer models and keep on having a blast on what ya got.
