I fixed the water pump and got everything out back together. I went to go kick it over and the kick start did spring back up fml. So I took it all back apart to look at it. My question is how does the spring go? Did it go on top of the gears or at the bottom. I just want to finally ride the bike.

The tab on the kickstart spring goes into the untreaded hole, I marked it in red in this picture. Click for larger version.
