2014 yz450f Anyone got one yet?

Recommended Posts

Buddy come on! He makes millions on yz specific parts that are for changing the bike to make it better. My point was why would he ride it stock when he owns a specific company that specializes in yz's. Anyone can ride a stock bike, hes dr mofo d. His bike isn't stock! Lol

He does work for Yamaha. Promoting the 13 to help sell remaining inventory. He had his pipe on it and maybe a few other little tidbits, but I was told the engine was stock. He only remapped it. My 11 has been running great up here too BTW.

Dr.D almost always rides stock engines in his YZF's, not counting the pipe. He very likely did do some small things to the bike, but not many, and it would be stuff that anyone can do on a limited budget, if the past is any example. They say in MX it's 80% rider and 20% bike. Out of the 20% that's "bike", only about 20% of that is engine.

stock means you didn't touch it! it isn't stock if it had a radiator lowering kit or and engine relocation kit. unless you look at the bike good you wont really know what he did to it. a pipe that isn't stock is..... not stock... a efi map that is different from what comes on the bike is.... not stock... I don't think I need to go any further with my point that the bike isn't stock.

Too me, NOT stock is a high comp. piston, cams, ported head etc, I think most people are on the same page. I mean MOST. lol

do you ride a motor? cause I ride a dirt bike that has more to it that just a motor. stock engine doesn't mean a bike is stock sorry but im done with this whole what is stock thing. I know that if you put parts on a bike that aren't oem or change the geometry or postion something to a new location it isn't stock, if you guys cant handle that and need to go to a rule book to figure that out then so be it. ill stick to what I know.

back to the 14 yz450 who has riden one subject! I haven't lol how bout you rotax800 you ride a stock 2014 yz450 yet or did you modify it already lol

Chris See had their, Dirt Rider?, test bike out at Mammoth. It was "showroom floor stock" haha except for some mapping they were playing with. He wasn't doing so well for the pro class, but he looked great and the bike sounded awesome! The '14 makes a free revving buzz. It sounds bitchin! He looked like he was having a lot of fun on it and was consistently putting the bike in the same lines.

On a side note, My 15yo son, who normally rides a KTM 150 2t decided to race the 450C class at Mammoth. He has ridden my bike, 11 YZ450 only a couple of times and never raced a 450. He had crazy fast lap times in practice, 2:15. He quald to the Main in his first qualifier with an 8th place. There were 3 qualifying races and 3 semis. He had a bad start in the 39 rider main, around 25th, but picked of a couple riders each lap. He finished 14th out of 118 riders entered in the class. It was another good day for the YZ and he is really excited about the '14 YZ250F

It was Chris See. 2nd year pro privateer I think. He actually tests for motorcycleusa.com. Here is a link to some info on him: http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/834/13272/Motorcycle-Article/Motocross-Privateer-Files---Rounds-1---2.aspx

I have noticed a lot of times that the magazine guys will race various classes above or below their skill level just to get on the bike on the track and have their results pulled from the final results. Last summer Don Maeda, Swap TWMX, did a few of the summer series rounds with us in the 40 Int and dumped his results. I think they just do it to get real world testing with transponders without interfering with participants results. Just a guess...

Mammoth results are at www.2xlive.com just checked lap times for See in his qualifier and they were within 1 sec of my son's so he must have been coming off injury or something.

WELL! BHD 451. Sorry, didn't realize you were so sensitive and didn't mean to start a pissing match, but, since you asked, i ride a highly modded 2011 yz450f. Yup thats right. It has different tires, new chain and sprockets, and since all the stock 450's come sprung for a 160-180 lb rider and i'm 6'2 210, i went with factory connection springs to carry my fat ass around. Oh ya, I have a non oem graphics kit as well and red wheel spacers. Have a nice ride.
