yz450 4 speed sprocket gearing

im very sorry if i this has been seen before i cant find a good answer or a explained one.
my mechanic recommended me to install 14-45 sprockets for more top speed , desert and trail riding, i never touch the mx tracks. is that a good setup?i am running it. but have no comparison except from stock. could anybody give me their advice or point me in the right direction i would greatly appreciate it
