Hey people I noticed a rattling noise from one of my forks today. Took them apart to find the floating piston and ics spring were rattling round.
Just how much play should be in the floating piston?
Also one fork the inner chamber system still worked and extended the rod fully out but the rattly one actually sucked the rebound rod in vacuum style!!
Oil was gone. Bottom seals aren't leaking so I'm assuming oil went past the floating piston?
Here's a pic of the play in it.
Any thoughts please and what do I need to fix this.
Thankyou peopleImageUploadedByThumper Talk1371588235.865154.jpg

its held by oil pressure from the cartridge, its because it leaked that why it was rattling, you have ics oil seal leaking or o ring, replace them and bleed them the rod should extend fully...
