If you guys were looking for a single cylinder (older) bike with enough displacement that could easily handle 70mph, gets 50 plus mpg, and is reliable as the Charlie Sheen doin' cocain- what would you purchase?

I am looking for a project bike- I was thinking gn 400 but they are so friggen slow as in slower than my cr125r motard- I am looking for that happy middle here I am not looking for a sport bike but something hwy safe that is lighter weight and small enough displacement to get the mpg I want but not so small that its not hwy safe (as in acceleration)- the people in mn can't drive - at all....

thanks for the upcoming advice!

XR or XL 400 (maybe), 500 or 600.

Xl600 defiantly will handle highway speeds you'll have to go 88 or about for electric start though. Can you post up some pics of your cr125 supermoto I will be doing the same thing with mine soon

Single cylinder and highway cruising dont go hand in hand. Not for any great time or distance anyway
