Can someone tell me what this part is

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

I am parting out my WR 400 99' model and are having trouble identifying This part. I think it is the voltage rectifier. I looked on ebay and the net and couldnt see one the same as this.

Can someone please confirm for me.

Thanks Drek-07. I thought it was the regulator but couldn't find a picture anywhere. All the newer bikes have a heatsink on them so they look different.

Thanks for helping out.

No problem. We're here to help

Definitely regulator/ resistor lol. Any other troubles- I have a 1999 WR400 siting in pieces as I write this.

Hi Barra8,

Thanks for the input it is really appreciated.

If you dont mind I would like to ask you a quick question.

I have sold the Neutral switch (sits down next to the gear shift lever and front sprocket) on ebay and tried to take it off last night but it seems stuck. I was in a hurry so didn't try any more but was wondering if you know if there is a trick to it?

It may just be held on with silastic but didn't want to pull to hard incase it broke. Have you had any experience with these before?

Cheers,

Andrew

The O-ring is keeping it held in, use vice or multigrips to carefully clasp it using a rag to protect it. Once clasped gently wiggle it out. BE VERY CAREFUL, it breaks easy.

I am guessing that you removed the two retaining screws?
