I've been riding dirt/enduro for about 5 years now and have been wanting to get a bike to commute to work and back and something to cruise on. I've been riding ktm all my years and at my local dealer they have a '12 990 Baja. Ive absolutely have fallin in love with it and love that body style. And anybody had previous experince with this or can tell me what they are like to ride and live with. Also if you have another suggestions on touring/dual sport bike like triumph or anything like that please let me know! Thanks for the help!

Mucho info on the orange crush forum on adv rider.I did a 20 mile highway ride on a 2010 990 and it seemed like you could drop the gearing some-6th gear was useless at 60 mph.I rented a bmw r1200gs and did some dirt work in death valley and would rather have the ktm.It probably weighs about the same as a f800gs or the triumph 800 but has alot more power.Since I have long legs I like the riding position better than a street only bike.

Not much to think about here. Do it!! you wont be sorry. there is no other larger bike that can do triple duty like a 990.
I love my 950 ADV S  It's by far the best bike I have ever owned.
Ive raced it against 450 class real dirt bikes, rode it as a commuter and made countless 3000 mile trips.
