yz 426 seized then no compression

Ok so I have a friend who has a yz426 it seized then he changed the oil and push started it. IT turned over but it did not start now there is a knocking noise. And yesterday when i went over there the compression was real low. You could now turn it over by hand.

so any tips on how to track down this problem.

Start tearing it down and check things as you go. Top first, but check the cam timing. If you find it off, you can try resetting it, but with the noise and the fact that it seized, it's not likely to fix things.
