No you will not have to pull the flywheel!
I just performed the 04 torklimiter and side case mod,it was a breeze :DIt is harder to change the oil than it is to do the mod.I did'nt even have to change the oil. :)
I just layed the bike over on the right side and tore in to it,The only thing that concerned me was the stator and all the wires. But that was no problem, just unscrew the 4 allen bolts and screw them into the new one.The whole job start to finish took about 30 minutes

O.K. Indy I'am ready to order but I'am not sure on the shaft you have listed. Do you need to order the shaft? is that the part some one was saying is the same as the o3?

You dont need the shaft and you dont need to press in a bushing. I will do it this weekend but I expect it to take less than an hour with an oil change. :)

I did it today! Bike starts just like it always has. I sent David Dialogue the instructions with pics and he will post it on his web site: www.wr450.com
Takes a little over an hour! Low tech, everyone can handle it. :)

Indy -
You got it 99% right. One thrust washer should go on each side of the torque limiter not both on the outside. I just popped my '04 apart again to make sure. Other than that I think you've got it.

Awesome indy thanks :D for taking the time to take pics and doing the wright up :D. Is it still possible to use the 03 side cover or would it be quite the pain to make it work. :)
