Pro-Moto Billet exhaust parts - ever used them?

Need to quiet my 426F down for off-road use on public land. I see that Pro-Moto Billet makes a S/A (screen-type) and a baffle insert specifically for the stock muffler. The two parts together are cheaper than an FMF Q by about half. Anybody ever installed these parts on their old stock muffler before?

Kona2000,

For what it's worth, I bought the PM S/A for my CRF. Nice looking, nice fit and riveted up real easy! As for the silencer insert, I did not get that. My CRF sounds almost quiet next to my riding buddies' KTM 520 and KTM 300.

I had both on my 426, real sweet set up.

It is nice if you tap the end cap and use stainless bolts to hold it on instead of rivets. Makes it easy to remove to do the silencer packing.

Not sure if the insert really got it to 96db though since I never had it tested.

Just received mine last week. Gonna try it out this week-end. Nice unit - very easy install. I think I made a good choice!

Yeah I got one the same day I bought the YZ..because of the need of a spark arrester I thought it was pretty trick looking and a snap to install...
Later after I had riden about 12 weekends I got warned about noise...
Bought the insert and 96db...COOL
and if I want to go racin' I can take the insert out. Even though I can't really notice that much HP loss....
Maybe because this thing is way fast
for the FAT GUY

So, how does everyone feel about the change in power with the silent insert? Is there a loss in any particular area? Anyone else tried the PMB on a YZ450? This just might be the hot ticket for me -- I've been looking for something that will get down around 96db, but that won't rob any of the stock power (I know, I am asking for a lot!) :p

I used the insert on my WR450 and the bike is still fast.

I wonder if when someone rides a loud bike they think its faster because of the noise.

I put the Dubach S/A on my YZ450. Very similar to the PMB in design but $99 compared to PMB $129.

You will need to check the S/A screen every other month or so to remove any muffler packing material that gets stuck in the screen. No big deal.

Dubach is coming out with a quiet insert that looks good.

I have one on mine. It passes with the insert in at 96db but without it no way. It does cut off some of the bottom but not that bad, it actually helps a bit coming out of corners.

Anyone else tried the PMB on a YZ450?

I bought one for my yz450 when I bought it with the silencer and went on a poker run that requiered 99db or less and mine tested at 92db at 3500rpm and 94 at a higher rpm but not sure how much higher it was. Power is down a little but for desert or trail riding it is not an issue. After riding with the insert in with some friends with 250 two smokes I could still keep up with and even outrun some of them! For racing I remove the silencer and spark arrester for the best starts possible, and with this bike holeshots aren't too awfull hard.
