i have been riding my whole life but unfortunatly had to sell my bike due to a car crash. i just came up with the money for another bike but i just want some peoples opinions. i have always rode red and blue but i found a 1999 rm250 for $850. i just cant seem to let a deal like that go. what is your opinion/reviews?

Post a pick so we can see the condition of the bike and verify what year it is for you. If you can get the 10th digit of the frame serial number, that will tell you what the real year of the frame and body is. 850 is not a bad price, but make sure its not worn out. You can start dumping money into a worn bike real fast. The Suzuki Crew is hear to help. Use it.

Not bad, My vote would say its worth the price, but I like the thrill of the deal so I would hagel some bucks off that. Plan on $150 for a fresh top end right off the bat. Tear the top end down if you buy it and just check it out for piece of mind. I'm sure some of the others will chime in, they love looking at bikes and photos of all kinds. They realy like looking at tore up crap that cost someone else money . Good luck with your deal.

I took a 2nd look, it has the inverted forks, the photo really doesn't show the full pipe that much but the swell look bigger than a 125. However I cant see the left side for the 250 sweep out side the frame. Silencer tip looks 250? Hell I mite be wrong, it my be a 125.

i already contacted the guy and tried to ask him a few simple questions like what oils he was running and what fuel mixture ratio he was running. . he told me he bought it a couple months back and rode it once and it was too fast for him he didnt even put gas in it he just ran whatever the previous owner had in it . so he was no help what so ever. but my main concern is will i regret switching to a yellow bike ? no one i know owns one and i have only heard negative things bout them . i know they cant be as bad as my friends make them out to be because from everything i have already read eveyone loves their suzuki. another question that i had was if this year was a good year

Many of the guys on here ride that year of bike and love them. When they come on line, I'm sure they will tell you the in and outs of the bike. If you are going to trail ride it, then this model is a very good bike. However, if wan't it for motocross, then you may want to hold out for 04 to 08 model that has all the last up grades.

Yeah I took more looks and your right hard to tell by the pipe just looks a little small to me. I think the kick lever though points to a bigger stroke. I still don't think it is a 99, looks like a 97 to me.

Sure we always want the best deal we can get. If you go look at it check out the serial number and see what the 10th number is. That is the year. It does need some TLC so get the best price you can if you want the bike.
Blue book prices are for Bankers, riders deal with riders. Offer what you are willing to pay for it and put a some money in it to get it back up in good shape.

Its definitely not a 99. Double check that vin though because the gas tanks from those years will fit the shrouds from the 99-2000 bike I believe.

That is a big clutch cover on the right side of the engine.....my guess a 250cc.
99-00 years had USD showa forks....... 96,97,98 had conventional show forks.
It has a seat cover that is not stock...so no way to tell.....and of course no tank graphics.
850$$$ sounds right.

That's definitely a 99-00 guys. I'm also 99% sure that's the 250 it doesn't look the same as my 99 125. The kickstart is different and as is the pipe. Check it out and see, if everything checks out to be good, $850 is a great deal.

Here is the con of owning an RM250... once you own one you want another and then another and before you know it your garage is full of Suzukis that you want to ride all the time. It becomes an obsession.
