Kx 125 empty silencer !??

i have a 97 kx 125 just got and the silencer was cut short and welded closed??? i opened it and no packing at all !!!???? its an old pro circuit that someone cut short ?? anyway it has no top end hit ?? could this empty silencer be part of power loss ??? i heard its not good to run without any packing ?? runs good but not much power ?? feels like something holding it back?? im ordering a fmf silencer powercore 2 soon ... just wanting to know little more about this .... any info would be great .... thanks

Running without silencer packing will affect the performance, and the effect increases with rpms. Cutting the silencer shorter will also reduce rev on top. Add the two together and it's no wonder your bike has no top-end.

The Powercore should perk it up nicely on top.

Whoever put that back together with no packing was a bonehead. Your bike should run much better with the new FMF silencer.
