Straight from Race-Dezert the first one has spoken, let's wait for Shane Esposito if he will ride for Ivan's team.

Mike Childress: How cool is it that a mexico based team is basically tied for 2nd in the points with the factory Honda team heading into the Baja 1000..Has a mexico team ever had 1x? So who every finishes in front of each other gets the plate.. Unless we all get docked again and the BETA slips in for the win. (not knocking the beta) But how huge is that. I rode the glen helen 12hr for the Ramirez familey and wow what a blast did I have riding a motorcycle again. This family is a great bunch of people and Im excited about getting down to Baja and riding my dirt bike. Ivan is such a talented young rider and I expect huge things from him in the future. Sorry I didnt catch a word of ANYTHING about ME did you ? sorry but im not a "POLITICALYCORRECT" Type of person and it was a little boring on here latley. ANd the "GUY FROM BRAWLEY" is as good as anyone ive ever seen in baja if not better. The point i was making is YES they did Win but under some crazy circumstances not because there team as a whole was dominant and faster. they were in the right place at the right time and thats it. unfortunatly we all paid a big price for the lack of judgement at SCORE. So my meaning was and is nothing personal at all I just dont feel that the "BETA" team should be considered a factor with such teams that were mentioned. No harm intended i just call it like i see it sorry guys. And please if you could do us all a favor, At least know what your talking about if your going to call someone out. Just wondering how much factory back-up will the BETA Team will have all the way from Italy, more support, helicopter,the same riders (Corfman Bro's-Craig Smith)new riders???. Best of luck for that team hope they can have a Top 3 finish.

Ivan Ramirez is seriously talented. I can't recall (going back to the '70's) another rider out of Baja so skilled. Ivan has the potential to become a National Hero, for sure a Baja Hero.

Before the 500 he and I were talking and told him to bail on this Baja racing stuff and go the ISDE route. That the chances of winning a Baja 1000 were slim.
His skills could take him around the World racing enduros and the potential to stay on top as the National champ could last longer (years) at enduro and he could make a good living at it.
2010 ISDE is in Mexico, he should (imo) have tried to go to Portugal for experience and next year come out swinging in his own country.

Enough about that.....
If they end up with 1x i might be eating my words....

He did race some Enduros in Mainland Mexico finishing second place behind Homero Diaz, and did pretty good in PRO2 in the WORCS race in Glen Helen..Really interesting the ISDE will be in Mexico in 2010 what date and place????

The Austrailian KTM team rumored to be coming had a set back (rider injury this past summer) and wont be racing this race. They plan on being here in 2010 on a 2010 KTM 530.
