As previously posted by Kelloggss, the property owner:
Primitive camping I don't think will be a problem. The cabin will probably sleep 4 or so ,There is enough room to set up several tent spaces depending how close you wanna pack in you could set up probably around 25 tents or more average size.We will have one out house type bathroom with flushing toilet,One shower stall,A rented port-a-john or two if needed,a holding tank of water for showering, toilet etc.(bring a cooler of drinking water)We do have electricity on one end of the lot where the cabin and bathroom is.I do not care how many people camp there I just know I will be in the camper.LOL. We have an endless supply of fire wood, a great area to Party,Its in the woods and close to the trails so COME ON. I have put a list together of some local motels.I have not stayed in any of them and don't know prices or conditions,They will range from no stars to 3-4 stars.

Yanni, I am out for sure on this ride & any riding for atleast 4weeks. I hit a Tree stump yesterday racing an Enduro...Left foot-broke again & dislocated both Pinky & big toe + another 4 breaks in my Metatacle(sp?) bones. The Pinky was facing the wrong way...lol 2nd break on this ankle in 3 months....so no riding for a couple weeks...or till the swelling goes down enought to get a boot on.
Cheers

Hey Guys,Ive been real busy on the road and not had time to get on here much latley. We have been doing a lot of work at the Camp site and It is starting to shape up.We have totaly cleaned up the ridge,Graded the driveway, ridge, and put down about 6 loads of gravel,We have power in the cabin now and will be putting up sheet rock tomorrow. We have plenty of fire wood and a fire pit.We still dont have a shower yet but will be working on that this week. You may want to bring some drinking water or cooler to fill up at the spring. We will have water storage for flushing, washing, etc but may not be potable for drinking.bring some lawn chairs, coolers, food, beer, and your camping stuff,It is somewhat primative but thats what makes camping fun.I will be checking on getting a couple port-a-johns also.I will bring a refrigerator from the shop for cold storage.satelite radio also but there is no TV reception at all,The driveway is steep so please use 4WD if you have it,You can make it in 2wd but you need to keep your momentum up. The nearest gas is at the mouth of caney fork which is 7 miles down from the camp,During the ride the only gas will be what you bring up to the camp, moonshine store at the mouth of the Fork or Balsam Grove store which is at the far reaches of the ride. Unfortunatley the government thinks no one should access the forest and they have been heavily involved in closing roads,It really sucks but there is still a lot to ride and this may be the last good riding days left in Caney Fork. They have closed most of the roads on the "Old Bald" side of the valley but havn't done anything on the "Suger Creek" side but have said that will take place next year,So I would suggest if you want to ride The Fork you better be at this ride. I will have a grill there but you may want to bring one yourself in case there is a big turnout, also we will have a big fire and I have a large grate so cooking on the fire will be available .I am looking forward to riding with a great bunch of guys and havening a great time.Lets make this "last good ride "the best. see yall soon.

I won't be camping but I will be there both days riding. Will there be room to turn around on your property to get in and out with a little 5x8 trailer. I can park across from the college in the park if that's still an option ,as long as there's time to re-fuel down there when people come back to the property to get gas. I have 4 wheel drive and 3 bikes on the trailer. How about some pictures of the park and entrance off Brasstown to the property. Thanks, Richard

Yes There is room to turn around and you could even park up on brass town rd.The park across from Caney Fork is open and that would also be an option.I am working on getting permision from the wifes cousin to be able to use an area across from my place for parking.just stay tuned and we will keep it updated.

I have talked to the Wifes cousin about parking and camping on his place and he said anywhere we can pack in.There is only a few spots to camp and several places to park.Brass town road is very little traveled and you can pretty much park anywhere along the road as long as you dont block the road or some ones mail box or driveway.I will assess the situation a little more tomorrow when I go back up.He also has a little property at the mouth of brasstown across caneyfork road right on the creek that he may let us use for camping.I will try to update again tomorrow. Some people are camping down on hwy 441 outside of sylva and say it is only 10 miles or so.IT is 7 miles up Caney fork road to my place and caney fork is about 10 miles from downtown Sylva. It will take you at leas 25 minutes to get To HQ on Brasstown so allow plenty of time as it is a curvey road up caney fork.
