I'm riding my MTB at Lake Fontana tomorrow - I did mention that to a few people, but not sure if that's what you're referring to. I see you're from AL - are you riding at Cheaha Mt. next weekend? That's where I'm headed from Lake Fontana.

Great pictures kelloggss!!
I don't think I will be able to make it. I have to train for the Gobbler enduro the next weekend. I'll PM you my number if you need anything give me a call. My buddy Debandi will be riding it. Super guy!

How did that swingarm break?

Riding pavement back to kelloggss for lunch/fuel on Saturday morning, some lady in a GMC p/u decided to cross the double yellow to hit the apex of what was for her a sharp left hand bend in the road. She said she didn't see that I was already there. I had about a 2' gap to fit between her truck and the bridge abutment, but turning hard enough to make it the rear end slid out about the same time she saw me and swerved to her right. My bike slid under her left rear tire and I slammed against the side of the truck and slid down the road a piece.

That about right, pressley? You saw it all, lol. Still wish he had a helmet cam.

Good thing I brought spare motorcycles.

KTM17A is definitely a man's man for continuing riding. Loaded up the smashed Katoom, and went back to the trailor to get another Katoom. He finished both days without a hitch. Amazing.

Here's the first video from the ride, Ep.1. This starts at the top of the "hill climb", up the mountain into the snow to the BRP:ride:. Luckely my memory card didn't max out until we got to the top. From there back down to HQ I have no video, but I've got eveything up to that point! Ep.2 (aka "Alabama Bike Wash") will be up next

BTW -does anyone know how/if I can embed a YouTube video on TT?
I tried and only the code showed up. I see I could possibly do it using Photobucket but all my videos are on YouTube.

Man oh man! Singletrack through the snow on a DS ride....does it seriously get any better than that!? The best part was the gradual procession of snow as we climbed up. That was awesome Huff.

TT for whatever reason will never let you embed. We'll put it on my website for sure though.

I'm anxious to see the Yellow Submarine vid now. :)

Hey Yanni, how are ya bro?

Couldn't be better. Got 2 events successfully completed this year with more on the way for 2010. I'm thinkin' a 2 state distance-style rally/trek and POSSIBLY (do not quote me on this) an all private property enduro held right here in WNC. Again, that's taking time so don't hold me to it.

Peeps are requesting another AA300, so new routes for that one will be in store. The YanniPalooza event was a hit so me and Kelloggss are in talks about another one of them too.

Other than that, all is good. It's been a busy year and thing's are on the upswing thus far. :ride:

This was a great ride. Hats off to Ryan and Kelly for putting on a killer event.
Although I spent alot of the morning picking myself and my bike up off the ground
I still had a great time. I played catch up for most of the time so I didn't get as much
video as usual and just a few pix at the start.
I've been waiting on the first video to be encoded on Livevideo.com but its just not cooperating.
I just uploaded it to photobucket so we'll give it a try.
Gonna be impossible to beat the snow video!

What up guys....Mike and I had a blast! Props to Yanni and Kelly for making this ride happen!! I may have been the slowest guy in the group on the Aprilia but I conquered every section on the first try and never dismounted (except for the easy ascent to the bald mtn top)....the 550 is a machine!

Long story short....I couldn't cancel my Hot Springs campgound reservation so I moved the date to the weekend of 11/14. This covers two large sites side by side on the french broad river at the back of the campground from Thursday night to Sunday. I just pm'd Yanni offering up the campsite for him or a group that may have booked a ride with him. If nothing is set up....anyone from the Yannipalooza is free to stay for free for the three nights....hopefully Yanni is available to guide a ride for anyone that is free that weekend. You guys have probably checked out the terrain, if not, it's a great ride.

Looking forward to the next ride in 2010!:ride:

*** 10/25 - Yanni is going to use the campsites as he has a tour set up....

Thanks Micheal. I learned some things on this ride. One is when crossing a creek carry more speed / momentum and if you fall over GET YOUR LEG OUT OF THE WAY!!:bonk:

This ride was a total success and I wanted to thank everyone for coming on out. There will be more of these. We had 2 this year. Who knows how many we'll throw in 2010, but there will be more. If there's any more pics/vids floatin' around out there, throw 'em up!

Great vids Mike, really enjoying them!

BTW, been having a blast at the trails in Charlotte that you and Jeff pointed out. Warms this ol' country boy's heart to find a vestige of rideable wilderness in McMansion Central... :smirk:
