Great intel, Thanks'
Dropping the 125SX makes sense with the current AMA rules. Glad to hear their improving 1st gear in the 150SX my son smoked first gear within .5 hrs of new destroyed the entire transmission luckily they covered it under warranty. Still no EFI for the 450’s???

yea, this sucks. why would they get rid of the 125... thats retarded. and the 85. and freaking sewage tanks on the xc's? this is bullcrap. i was like 150xc, exactly what i wanted minus the ugly tank. i guess i will be getting an 09 150sx.

KTM better not be headed where Honda went with the no two strokes thing. seems like they are getting rid of a fair amount of them this year. that bums me out that they got rid of the 200xc!

i know, they cut ALLOT of bikes. how can they have no 85? i just dont understand that.they will be all gone by 2012, maybe even 2011. i bet. first they are gonna release a thumper alternative (i.e. 150sxf) because there is no minis. they are gonna be the first to actually make one.

he never mentioned that the 85SX was going away, or that it was staying so I bet it stays. And thank god they got rid of the 200, it was the worst displacement ever. Like bringing a knife to a gun fight, and it took the worst qualities of a 125 and 250 and mixed them into one ball of poo.

mtman, have you ever ridden a KTM 200? They are incredible bikes, my dad has one and I cannot find a downside. Rather, it is all the QUALITIES of the 125 and the 250 mixed together. I've wanted one for the longest time. He is very happy with his and the power is straight through with lots of torque everywhere. Smooth powerband as well.

I'm sure all the '10 bikes are sick but I could not be happier with my 144. It's been my dream bike for so long. I haven't nearly put the hours on it, my guess is under 10, but we're 2 peas in a pod I suppose you could say.

Too bad about the chains as well, IMO Regina and KTM go hand in hand.

yea i thought the 200 was pretty neat, they still have the xc-w but screw that. whatever, i dont need a 200xc anymore now there is the 150xc! (flucking sewage tank...)

The XCW setup is probably better for the intended niche of the 200 anyway.

What I want to know is: can we retrofit the new airboxes to 08/09 bikes?

That website is garbage Bro.

I simply copied and pasted info that came direct from KTM to Shoals to me.

Here is the 2010 Brochure:http://www.ktm-parts.com/pdf/ProdInfo/2010%20Offroad%20Order%20Guide.pdf

I did get a laugh outta reading 2010 300 XC-W "Street" though:p

Those derned Euro folks and the Aussies get street legal 300's...Not us!!

Tell ya what. KTM releases a 2010 street legal 300 XC-W in our North American US market? I will Pay-Pal you $1000.00 Cash money on the spot.

The website link you gave is madness. The XC-F 250/450/505 models are done. 65/85/105 and 200 XC's are toast. 125 SX's are ancient history. There isnt gonna be any street legal smokers. ATV's are history. Not in our market. Not in 2010.

The writing was on the wall when our economy crashed. Most those models are simply built for the US market. They havent sold the XC line of thumpers in Europe for a long while if ever or the smokers XC's. We are essentially being offered the same menu as the Euro or World market rather than having the US market specific models along with all the others.

I don't see any major drama's here really, losing the 200XC is a bit of a shame but they are still making all the best 2T and 4T models that are worth riding imo.

Btw Kiwi i actually think changing to the DID chain is a good thing..DID make a quality chain.

125, 200, 250, 300 EXC have always been street legal here :ride:

In Colorado I simply bought the Enduro Eng Euro light kit, a cheap mirror, a policy through progressive and Viola!

I too have a street legal 3-Hunny.

Now our state law is getting funky and Californicated. "DirtBikes" are getting harder to tag if they are built after a certain date Yada-Yada...

Looks like I may be riding my tagged 300 for years and years!!

Magic Man, it doesn't say anything about the clear tank on the 150, just the 250. Don't get all wadded up about it. I still think you are taking a chance with the 150, but it's your money. You should ride a 200.

I hate to see the 200XC go away as well. BUT, if KTM puts the TC forks on the W, you got dern near an XC anyway. They share very similar trannies.

mtman, it's ashamed that you feel that way about the 200. I suspect you really haven't spent any time on one, or ridden it where it shines.

Black fuel tanks are rubbish:bonk: The 450 sxf sounds interesting though with the 5 speed box.

How could they get rid of the 4 stroke XC's??? In my town, that's probably the most popular bike sold. Such easy bikes to ride too. I guess they just don't sell very well.

The 200xc from what I have been told by people who own or have ridden them say that they have more power than a 250F, you can chug 'em down low, and they feel like a mountain bike. I dunno, that seems appealing to so many people.

But again, I guess the numbers just weren't there.

I wouldn't worry too much though folks. KTM drops/re-releases models all the time. I'm sure once this recession clears up they'll be back with more models again.

They didn't change the 250 SX much. I thought this would be a big year for the 2 stroke MX'ers.

A 144 makes more HP then a 250F.

maybe with the sx-f gaining a 5 speed gearbox the 450 sx-f and xc-f became too similar to justify manafacturing two different models?

It a North American model only...Our economy is in the shatter. They cant sell enough of em' to justify the bike.

I wouldn't be surpised if some of the models listed as deleted are not gone forever. There is a good possibility that they want to clean out current inventories of 08/09 versions of these bikes and then bring in new versions once the surplus non-currents are gone

i prefer to not go from a 150 four stroke to an equivalent of a 400 fourstroke for my next bike. it says all the xcs are getting clear tanks btw. im not all that experienced but im growing so i dont want a 200. plus its like 8 pounds heavier or something like that. its heavier than a 250sx.
