I did on my old GSXR, doesnt make that much difference TBH. The throttle tubes of the 04 R1's are also popular as they have a larger diameter

I think PVC pipe mod. will more effects than zip-tie.

I like the idea. BUT, can you be sure that after this mod the throttle don't hang on more easily. If the possibility of an error is the same as without the mod, then I could do this. So someone wiser please comment  I don't know how it would get stuck but anyway. Maybe it can't, I don't know. I'm no expert :D

do you think we need to play with the cables...
i got an fcr, and hacing to remove it from the bike to play with the cables is annoying...

Not at all, just tought I'd like to know if someone else has done this to his SM. Maybe I should have presented my question in other words :) . Just have bad experiences of some homemade mods, fixed older hondas throttle and it hung on while I was wheeling it  The fix hasn't got anything to do with this mod though. Maybe I'll try this now that its already too cold to ride out there.
btw, how did you know Finland is Suomi in finnish?

Some of us have "culture"...im serbian, so we learn stuff in school...like the Finns
I also used to have a Finnish girl...
she was a beauty, black hair, scandinavian features, very beautiful
i gotta say one thing...hear a finnish woman talk, and you melt...
And they are easy to approach after 1-2 drinks..i reckon most you Finnish boys need a few more drinks before getting comfotable, so us foreigners get to steal them
Its not too cold in Finland yet, you guys must be in the 5-10 C. In Canada, where i live, we are already in the minus, and im still riding to work (quick 3 minute ride), but it feels good to be able to still...

and what does this do?

and what does this do?
effectively makes the throttle tube diameter larger so that it takes up the cable (read as opens throttle) quicker.
basically you don't have twist your wrist as far to get to WOT.

Yeah, we are at 5-10 C at the moment, yet its raining all the time and the mornings are freezing cold! Locked the front wheel two or three times the other day and haven't been riding since. Tore down the bike and went through all the bearings etc. cause I seem to have too much time :smirk:
Well, I might as well go and see if I can do something useful now, maybe glue the zip-tie.
(ps. When the finnish boys get comfortable enough to do the approach they're already too drunk :smirk: Just kidding. I always thought german was the language of love :D )

yeah i crashed pretty bad the other day, coming off a wheelie, realized there was little space, hot the front brake, lost the front...banged up my knee real good...never been able to get a clear look at what knee cap looks like, but know iknow...
amazing how quickly my body builds flesh though..back on the saddle...
gota be craful...

for adjusting the throttle cable slack, do i use the little screw behind the throttle? or do i need to adjust my cables on the carb level?
thanks

Initial adjustment at the carb....you can fine tune the pull up top at the throttle

i just did it, and may i say OMG!! (see other post)
i had to adjust the cable a little, but not from the carb side; i made the space larger between the two screws behind the throttle cable...
you might not need to, but in my case it did as the throttle initailly stuck...diff bike, simply amazing, used to have a little trouble with clutch ups, problem solved after 10 min...
