atk 700 is still availiable for only 10 grand!!!! :eek:I'd rather have a service Honda for that price. Put it in a CRF frame and I'll consider it.

I have to say the jug is big thought. Here it is with a 250 piston:

IMO the only reason to own an ATK700 is to be able say you have a 700 two stroke

Everything Ive read about them says they are low revving vibrating torque machines, kinda like riding a tractor

what more reason do u need? take that bike, ur nos system, and say goodbye to probably anything at the dunes. Hell, maybe rig a super charger or something up to it? could be a riot!

Hell, maybe rig a super charger or something up to it? could be a riot!Turbocharging or supercharging a 2 stroke would not work since both the intake and exhaust ports are open at the same time. The gas will just go throught the cylinder without pressurasing it.

yea, that's what i was thinking after i wrote it. still, if u could get that to work, OMG it would be fast!

I think I read something on the KTM 2-Stroke forum where they are developing DI for 2S. I think they said that only one valve is open at a time.

the cr500 was made as an air cooled engine for 1983-1984, then 1985-2001 when it was discontinued in 2001, so no they are not made still. but now service honda makes the cr500AF is made from the 2001 cr500 engine put into the aluminum cr250 frame (the cr500 was never made into a AL frame), im pretty sure the 500AF is around $$9,000 USA, the 1986 cr500 engine was rated the wildest/most powerful, after 86, they tamed the beast down a bit. i believe the service honda dealer is located in Indiana or something like that

ATK.....the american make bikes are starting to get heard of, they the biggest factory 2-stroke made....the 700 intimidator:eek: ...also they have a 620 2-stroke....for those not strong enough to handle the 700:bonk:

Maybe I missed it somewhere, but how are you supplying power to the solenoids? A small battery that you charge before every ride? Nice bike BTW! I bet it's scary fast!

I mounted a battery in the seat/airbox to run the solenoids and fuel pump, I charge it every bottle fill...

Incorrect, I guess you haven't seen a turbocharged Banshee before.

A 4 stroke has both the intake and exhaust valves open at the same time, just like a 2 stroke.

ha ha ha, that's the funniest thing ive read in a while on here! ever here of the four strokes; intake, compresion, combustion, exhaust. if exhaust and intake happened at the same time it'd be called a 3 stroke.

if you had the intake valve open during an exhaust stroke it would cause severe failure of the valve train, bend the valve most likely, backfire through the intake, burn the valve seals, backfire through the carb, etc.... big time problem if your floating an intake valve during an exhaust stroke - these cannot be open at the same time.... never....
