Well why follow the rule book? Its' funny that we pound that book like gospel, we expect all riders to follow the rules. but if's it's not convenient then guess what, na it's ok lets not do that rule.

it's going to be interesting this fall.

You lost me a bit trackman... I think we are on the same page but, I'm not sure.

In D-14 the letters were all sent out to bump from A to B. We were already racing A and were excited that there would be alot that pointed out coming up to the A class. Then Whitney came and all bets were off and the B riders were allowed to ride B again. I guess I have no paticular rider that I feel MUST be bumped. I was simply excited to possibly have a B size gate in the A class (more productive motos with a larger class). I will admit I was disappointed that there was no follow through. Our district looked like they didn't know what they were doing. Hopefully they will follow through this year (AMA). I am glad that if they didn't bump a few that they at least did it across the USA and not just some districts.

my problem is that the rule book should not be ignored because it may not be convienant. it's simple if it was such a big deal that riders got moved that shouldn't, well then follow the appeal process and take care of it correctly. No instead they just abandoned the process and played "dictator". Well that is and will backfire on them.
We didn't move anyone this season, to many times last season advancement was questioned and changed. theyare supposed to do it, and they made that clear to us last year. so do the job. and do it right.

hey just out of curiosity, where you the guy at Whitney that at the end of riders meeting stood up on his mule and yelled "and what about the guys in the B class that according to ama rules are illegal to ride the B class??".
Lol, I don't know if it was you or if you saw him, but I thought it was pretty funny.

Nope we were not at Whitney this year. I bet there was a lot of that going on down there though. From what I understand that is where the AMA (not the districts) broke the news to the masses that the system for advancement was not going to take place in 08'. I bet there were alot of happy folks down there and alot of upset ones.

Like I said before I am just wishing for fuller gates in the A class. It seems to be that most go A when they are near graduating or getting ready to go on there own and we all know how exspensive a sport it is for parents let alone a kid just getting out on his own, so maybe that keeps the numbers down. I'm not sure.

I thought 08' would be a fun year in the A class locally had the advancement system (which seemed more than fair on a local and national level) been used in 08'. Hopefully they will follow through in 09'

Sorry for running on. and it's just my $.02

botton line here is this.

is this system going to cater to the few national riders who travel the country only to big races? or work with the thousands of local riders which this process really won't work well for.

lets not forget that all the riders who advanced themselves did so "knowing" they are going A. only to find out thier competitors didn't have to. "fair" didn't play in this at all, only who ya know, and who had the biggest influence.

that has to stop or it will pull the whole house down.

Sounds to me with what you have been saying the past couple of day's ,that your the THORN in the AMA's side on this issue. Had no idea you felt this burned about it.

I have a question for you trackman! What if a guy races every race in his class ,and places in the top 5 consistantly in all his races, and doesn't win a single race that year but wins his class. But his competitors who did not race every weekend.Won or placed in the top 3 and they finish mid pack in the points, but clearly they would finished higher than him if they had raced more.Is it fair to move him up? When clearly he is not ready to move up to say A class.:excuseme:

it don't work that way.
it works on averages not howmany races or points earned for awards.

today the points for awards is completely different set up then "advancement" points. the process was completely changed and reworked by the current folks and will be processed by them this fall.

anyway, see how that works. what sucked is they were supposed to advance off the system we have used for years, they decided not to with out asking anyone who was involved in the process for all those years. guess some one knows better then others. anyway thats the general answer, but more races usually means lower average, (harder to have a higher average with more races).

Actually, it's BG31's Police Department. Oh, and you gave too much away in this post, you should have kept a few of those details to yourself since only a certain message board knows how my bikes were sold.

Now I just have to figure out which one of the Junkies is ****in with us. :p :p :p

I see a Barney headlock coming, or a good spooning in Iowa. :applause: :applause:
