I have been looking for a cam for this bike 2004 450smr
and all i can find is the one from KTM "backorder indefinite"

so i have been looking elsewere
problem is no one seems to have one for the 450 only 525

I was looking at the KTM fiche and the cams are the same part num's

my question
could I use a hot cam for the 525 on the 450 then ?? :excuseme:

You can use the hotcam. it will take away from the bottom end and move the power to the top.

You can also try the KTM 8/33 cam or the 8/07 cam

we can throw a mean profile on the 8/07 or the hot cam can be redone also to run real good everywhere with some of our chevrolet roller cam profiles.

Can we use a stock 525 cam as a core I would be very interested in using one one with the 600cc kits I make

the stock cams are a little low on lift to make our big specs, the 8/07 is like the perfect cam to start with for our .370" lobe lift as the new intake lobe , the std. 8/07 has a nice exh. lobe already , the extra duration and lift makes the 577 cc really run on top end. send in what you have and maybe we can do a lower lift ( .345") with big duration for that bigger cc build.i'm sure we can do something on there that will work better.
