Heres some nice pics I got a few days ago riding on the outer cape, powerlines mostly with a national park fire road thrown in :)

All of this is basically outside my backyard through a few trails, no trucking of bike required :applause:

First, the trail from my backyard to the powerlines, dont you just love the motorized vehicles prohibited sign :P :bonk:

Upon entrance, one sees that my douchebag neighbor has erected a gigantic fence across the road :(

Paines Fence (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v259/xbreaka/painesfence.jpg)

In order to avoid this no sense one must go down a NPS fire road :applause:

Fire Road (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v259/xbreaka/fireroad.jpg)

Now enough with the commentary heres the good stuff!

Now, if one wants a change of pace, their is 2 sandpits you can explore which the owners for the time being allow riding in!

is that the watershed area in orleans or out near wellfleet's great pond? i have ridden my mountain bike out there a few times, and every time i think how sick it would be to have my rmz out there on the trails and sand paths. i go out to the cape a few times a year, and am going to try to bring my thumper out at least once this year. thanks for the pics in the meantime...

I ride that area all the time...my friend has a camp and wareham.

Those trails look exactly where we ride.

Have you been to that big water tower with the huge pit around it. Its awsome riding out there but wicked illegal.

if it says motorized vehicles not allowed, why are you taking your bike in there?

Wow that is cool! I live on the cape every summer (we live on Bass River, grandparents also live in south yarmouth, aunt lives in Falmouth, etc.). I never knew there were some places to ride there. I might have to bring my bike this summer :)

Hopefully you'll just get a chewing if your caught back there when you went right by that no motorized sign. U know they can take your bike if they wanted to. Only way to do it is chunk that sign somewhere and say you didn't know, didn''t see that sign.  cant believe I said that. Looks like a suuuuppper good play area. Be carefull and :ride: !

Wow, small world, I ride those exact trails. quadrider32 is one of my riding buddies, we usually get to those powerlines by a lake in wareham. Awesome riding though huh?

Oh, and puh-lease, don't give us shit about riding where it says no motor vehicles. We live in Massachusetts, a land where every riding spot has been taken over by self-rightous, extremist, brainwashing, p*ssy liberals. Im not conforming, Im riding my $4000 off-road motorcycle OFF-ROAD, which doesnt mean being a shithead, destroying peoples property and causing mayhem and mass destruction, it means enjoying a ride down a 50 mile stretch of powerlines, where there is absolutely no good reason not too. Oh wait, some ******* thinks his opinion matters and decides I can't ride my dirtbike even though im away from houses, people, roads etc. Ya, I'll stop riding there

heh, that sign actually is on the border between a town->national park boundary, generally the national park owns the treeline and the town owns the powerlines, that sign just marks one of the main trails used to get around a gigantic fence some guy decided to put up across the whole thing.

Great post!

For an ignorant schmuck. Are you not aware that these forums and many others are monitored by the ELE?!! You basically just sold yourself and many other riders to the devil. Basically a "Hey, bust us here". Furthermore, I can tell you have no idea what "good" riding is as the best riding in the cape is off to the side of those sand washed powerlines, in The Singletrack. Sorry to sound so snippy but it's people like you that cause us to lose more and more riding everyday. Nice pic next to the "No Motorized vehicles" sign....christ.

dude, people have been riding here for 30 or more years, you cant honestly tell me that the greenies dont know about it, they do and they barely do shit, so honestly I dont care.

Please, stop. If you think that some guy is monitiroring this board to pinpoint who and where we go riding you are smoking crack. Even if they were the next time he heads out a SWAT team is not going to capture him for questioning. They are powerlines, hes only hurting himself if something happened.

Is where you ride totally legal? Cause ill ride there if it is. Then your riding spot will be overused and have a bunch of bikes there every weekend

Yes, EP's DO in fact monitor these boards. I've had them tell me personally. Mass EP's just acquired 5 new KTM450excs and 9 new recruits to patrol the Plymouth area. The picture with the sign is like a dead give-away. Christ, I know the exact location. Again, I apologize to be so snippy about it but with what lil riding we have left here in the Northeast it isn't exactly a great idea to publicize the illegal/ or possibly tolerated areas. It's great to share the pics, but I wouldn't give the exact area. Just my opinion. I know people have been doing it for 30 years bud, it was legal in MSSF up until 10 years ago though. Since then the EP's have been down there every week and will be out in stronger force this year. You want to blow up your spot...be my guest. I figured I'd give a fair warning.

Yeah, actually it is. I was up at Hodges/Village in Oxford, MA this past weekend with a couple guys. The other areas will be open May 1st. The alternate areas I ride I have permission to be on. I've ridden on the cape plenty of times. I'm not stupid enough to give the spots up though. It's the best riding in the Northeast if you ask me.

Actually, I'm pretty sure the reason for purchase of those KTM's was that big drug running scandal that happened out near Bourne. I don't know if you saw, but some kids were using ATV's to run drug's down the powerlines, and eventually got busted.

So in turn you would want the illegal area YOU ride to be posted somewhere, for "all" to see? ATV's again...go figure.

I ride thos spots every weekend pretty much...I have a lake house in Plymouth....I got busted way out down the gas lines into Carver....Got written up 300 bucks for trespassing and failure to stop ( I got cornered heavy).....But anyways...I fuccking hate the EPs....and now this new addition of 5 450EXCs...If I see orange, Im bolting it-----this truely is terrrible news to me, seeing that Cape Cod riding is THE BEST in the Northeast

:smashpc: ...I wish this computer was an EP

I really dont think it matters what your riding---If people dont start to smarten up, there will be no riding at all.

And who ever said they were afraid of being shot, dont be worried---An EP wont shoot you for riding a dirtbike.

I have run from them before, unfortunatly, one of the times I got caught---Just respect them and dont give them a hard time--They write you up for a couple hundred bucks and if you respect them once they get you, they will still give you a hard time, but you might be keeping your ride.

I wont stop riding down there no matter what. Its a part of my life Im not letting any flippin crandberry plants take away...The EPs can eat my roost

It sure is awsome riding out there, I was with a buddy and we were able to park our trucks off head of the bay road "somewhere legal". Those powerlines kick ass! I'm from the plymouth area and thats the best I've seen in a while. They tell me the EP riders have to lay down like theyre hurt in order to catch people when they stop to help. That kinda sux. Is there anywhere else to park and access those lines? Has anyone made a map of the riding areas? I've also been to that track in wareham, kinda small but not too bad.

Well, gee golly, if i had a legal riding area around me or had permission to ride in a place i too would be a happy camper

if a mx bike zips through the woods...the sand...the powerlines...in massachusetts...and no one's there to hear it.....is it illegal?

the rich overbearing yuppies in massachusetts have their beach houses and have privatized/confiscated much public access to the shoreline/beach.

perhaps it's time we cut the middle class some slack...and gave 'em the trails to ride.

Stroked: You are absolutely right! I dont get to the track every week so I ride the powerlines and sand pits near me. I was riding with my friends and we saw a chick on an rm125 on the ground. We went over to help but we saw quads in the woods. My friends knew it was the EP so we out ran them. I felt guilty after but I was like ***! Thats screwed up someone could have really gotten hurt and I can't help them. I swear this whole EP this is fu*ked up.

For real, it's getting ridiculous.

Hey EP's, I know you'll probably read this so, if you don't want us to ride illegally, give us somewhere to ride!
