montana, you don't screw around with the inventory...

I'm not riding this year due to a foot injury (head-on with another rider trail riding), so my list looks like this:

1. beer
2. vodka
3. purple cool-aid mix (see 2)
4. beer
5. pop-tarts

:busted:

Pop Tarts! Ha ha! You rule Trav!

Hey all you 25 hr fockers, have a great race and a great weekend!

We'll be expecting lots of pics, write ups and stories of the most excellent type! Good luck bro's! -Ed

The coffee cravings are killing me !

I've cut the caffeine and have been drinking water like a whale since Monday and I'm not sure I'm going to make it. I walked down the coffee isle yesterday and it was like Hurley in the pantry on Lost.

Anyhow, this time tomorrow ... It'll be 1 hr till....

I was still trying to flat track the corners in my head on the drive home. Somehow shifting my weight and pushing on the outside peg doesn't to much in my pickup. :excuseme:

What a race

I agree, every corner on the way home, I kept leaning into them... man...what a blast, great course, even after 50,000 miles on it (Combined from all teams averaging 30 laps or so...)

Trav,

Those are excellent pictures! You even got a few of me and my buddies. They'll be thrilled to see those. Thanks for taking so many.

And thanks to Scott and the OTBG! I must say it was quite an event. This was my teams first years doing this and I must say that it was quite challenging. I've done the Hood To Coast relay run quite a few times, but this buy far out does that! At night it seemed like every time I had just laid down to get some rest one of my teammates was at the door telling me it was my turn.

Excellent job to all riders who competed and we'll see you next year!

Why do ironmen run soft knobbies?

Yeah. Flip through Trav's pictures and check out what kind of rubber the competition is running. I see lots of S12's, but the occasionally HT tire almost always on a ironman bike.

A good Carlsbad would work great on the hardpack established track, but how well would it work in the grass track?

My buddy ran 400+ miles in iron man and his tires look brand new. The established hardpack was soft and silty by my first lap at 2:00. I suspect most people were running S12s just incase it turned into a mud-fest.

I was running Maxxis IT's on my X and they work really well at the Ridge. Ran a worn out set at the six hour a month ago and they felt like glue on the dried out course.

FYI, I had to disable the "save photo" feature on the smugmug gallery because I am quickly approaching the 8GB/month traffic limit and downloading the originals takes up a lot of bandwidth. however, if there is a picture you want send me a PM and I can email it to you.
