Hey Nat and Zac.... I thought it might be really kool to play a cruel joke and say your bikes arrived dammaged...stolen at the local am/pm during transport or somthing.... but just couldn't bring myself to do it. Jeff arrived here at around 12:30am this morning. He actually beat me back from my ride with Loynz at Naches (oooffff I'm beat.... 6 hour ride today + 9 hour drive home) Anyway all is safe and sound.
See you up there...
Zac... no more riding!!! Need you healthy for the race.... having fun will be our highest priority!

Is the "expert" class really for AA pros who don't want to ride one bike?

I don't care about getting on the podium but to me "expert" means highly skilled amateur not pro.

Go MontanaWR250! Ironman style again!
Trackmaster!? I expected to see you on the start line with us Ironfolks again! You really re-set the bar last year and I was looking forward to giving a better challenge this year.
Hey thumper-talkers this years 25 hours will be the best ever!
I have been looking forward to this weekend for months like you!
A huge thanks to Scoot and the OTBG.
It is just such a PRIVILEGE to sit on the starting line!
Look for #164i -i'll need all the support i can get! It is my third try.
On the same bike! (same valves too! yamaha!) I get so tired from
my huge grin :ride: my performance has suffered. This year will be
no exception. I'll ride until i quit having fun. 245 miles, then 340, this year
i will again try my best.
Yahooooo THUMPERTALKERS! We shall roost in the light we create ourselves out of the love we have for our sport, the land, thumper technology, and yes- each other! :applause:
What better place? What better race? What better people? Wonderful!
See you all there!

Hey there guys,

Reading your posts has really gotten me excited for my first 25 hr. race! Me and 5 other buddies are all doing this for the first time and have no idea what to expect (except for the monkey butt  ). Would one of you who have done this before post a quick check list of crutial items we should bring in order to be prepared? That would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

Ha Ha!!! What do you MEAN? Too many gear bags??? That was a reduced pack-job!! You should have seen what I sent up with Mark and Zac last year and the year before!

Actually, the Moose Gear bag wasn't necessary, but I could not find a bungee to strap together my sleeping bag, pillow and blanket (that's all that's in that bag) Tell Jeff he cans squish it down any way he needs to, nothing will get hurt! I'll take it home on the plane with me to save him some space.

post a quick check list of crutial items we should bring in order to be prepared? That would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

There's some old posts if you do a search on this very subject, but some crucial items that come to mind:

EZ UP with three sides of tarp in your pit
A heat source - gas heater
Warm sleeping quarters
Windbreaker type outerwear - or an enduro jacket - could rain or snow
Grip warmers - I don't have them, but wish I did
A table in your pit area
Pit help/Crew - keep track of lap times so you have a general idea of when your rider is coming in
A Plan B for if your rider comes in after 1 lap instead of doing 2. You don't want to have to go wake up the next rider and waste time getting him geared up, etc.
Good, reliable lighting for your bike/helmet/pit

One thing that meant the WORLD to me was having someone from my team/crew cheering me on at the checkpoint tent. It's a great feeling to see a familiar face clapping and calling out your name at 4 am when you are tired and cold.

Good luck! Come by the Shred Betty Pit and say hello :ride:

montana, you don't screw around with the inventory...

I'm not riding this year due to a foot injury (head-on with another rider trail riding), so my list looks like this:

1. beer
2. vodka
3. purple cool-aid mix (see 2)
4. beer
5. pop-tarts

:busted:

No sit down dinner?
If you only knew what was on the menu!
I plan on several sit down dinners!
I guess 450 miles is out of my league!
I'll still try my best!
Thanks for the encouragement!

Ditto! Ill be showing up around 12 Midnight Friday....Ill come crash the party :busted:

Ace save me a snoozing spot for Friday. Any corner on the floor will do, just as long as its quiet and cean.

If you get a spare moment, could you fix all the chit I screwed up on my bike? 30 minutes to assemble the front of a bike leads to errors

I dint get the EZup in with Jeff as you may now know. Also didnt get the spare tires and fork seals in there either. :excuseme:

Spot to sleep: Check!
If I have time when we arrive I will get with Jeff and re-route your cable.....Jeeezzz... you had four weeks to assemble your bike!!! :bonk: :p
I have an ezup and we have plenty of tarps that will hopefully make it into the truck or trailer.
It's pouring here right now. Hopefully the ridge is getting some of this too.
Back to the garage to finish all the work on my bike. :busted:
