Testing pictures of Machinist's parts. (more to come !!!!) |

I just got around to uploading some pictures to Photobucket...so lets see how this go's.I wont post them all in the first thread..i will wait for some replies.
Here is a pic of a manual cam chain adjuster i just made for my bike...i know it looks like an APE and i modeled it after thiers, but i decided to add an "O" ring to the base rather than use the stock gasket. It also uses a one piece machined stainless screw rather than a bolt with the head turned down. I have run the bike with it , and so far no leaks. Also while i had my top end apart, i took a picture of the top engine mount bracket which i made to replace the stock steel one.It is made of aluminum and uses Ti bolts.I forget the weight savings,,i have it written down ,,i will look it up and let you know, but it is way lighter than steel. This is just a few things i have made and i will show more if the pictures upload successfully.I also installed a hotcam intake and the "E" base gasket while i was at it...more on that later. The bike has some serious bottom end now!!! Anyone with an S owes it to them selves to add those two items.
More to come.!!!!

Did you machine in a recess for an O-ring on the body for the adjustment screw? Under the lock nut? If not,, do you have any seepage along the threads?

No Erik...i did not.I thought about that ,but let me tell you something. If the oil is going to creep up the threads it will still get by the O ring because it moves along the base of the thread. The compressed O ring has no way to seal the root of the threads. My solution to this was to put some blue locktite on the jam nut so it gets to the thread base to seal it.Mine does not leak. That does'nt mean APE's don't seal, but i have read that some do leak on this forum.I think that oil only falls on the adjuster inside the motor,,no high preassure is directed in that direction

That's the whole idea here is to test the water to see if i can generate interest in my parts.Bike parts are by no means my regular business,,but i will make some if the demand is there. I have someone working on a website , and i will keep everyone posted when its done. I am the owner of the machine shop by the way...so no restrictions as to what i want to make..(LOL)... :D

No pay pal..setup yet.But i will get to it.Prices will be set soon. The cam chain adjuster i for sure can beat APE $50 US price.Should be about $35US 0r less.
Oh...did i mention i can make perfectly CNC'ed sprockets as well.... :D

How about making a counter shaft guard or at least a guard that goes around the CS sprocket. Also a chain guide would be nice and a spacer for when we remove the speedo pickup on the front axle, and a bracket for eliminating the rear foot pegs on an "S" model and...I could go on forever. I also need a bracket that will allow me to mount my "E" pipe on the "S" with using the middle bolt as it does not line up corrctly now.

To answer the other questions of brackets for exhaust and speedo spacer ..i have already done it.I will post pics.I just finished doing the smae things for my KDX...It's been a busy winter..
Here is a pick of the KDX..i havent even showed this on the KDX forum yet!!!

Heeding to Bronco's advice..( he PM'ed me right now)i have to say that for now what i am showing is purely for testing ,as i don't want to upset the rules on TT. To sell through this site might reqiure some setting up.But if i have my own site TT members can visit me direct.

what are your sprockets made of?
likely alot more would sell if you sold through TT, so you may make less profit by sharing, but in the long run it would do you good. Likely.
Whats the point of the engine bracket?
Hey Mac, Do you dual sport or just offroad?

Machinist, as I said in that thread, getting your parts reworked is gonna be a pain in the ass! Imagine the frustration after waiting weeks for your parts, and a fit check shows you that you have to send them back! I'd be pissed.
I know engineers with years of experience that still can't properly express in a drawing exactly what they need. Imagine the average guy with a pair of calipers trying to design a triple clamp. It's a recipe for wasted money.

The sprokets are made of 7075- T6 aluminum. Anything less than that would not last to long.Same material as the leading sprocket makers.
Gyro..(Craig) i knew you would show up soon. I will consider selling through TT also.I just need some time to work things out.Like i said,,my regular work keeps me busy enough.I know how bikers are...we just can't wait...but i am doing my best.

Oh ..i forgot ..the engine bracket was part of me going crazy trying to drop wieght on the "S"..I know it's overkill, but i had the bike down to wihtin a pound ( of the Off road "E" ) after i got done with it the way you see it with the aluminum gas tank..

More fuel for the fire!!!!! :jawdrop: :jawdrop:
I have also made rearsets for sport bikes. Not the least of which have been used by Honda Canada race teams and Yamaha as well. I had the oppurtunity to make these first for Brooklyn Cycle Yamaha two years ago ,and last year for Kevin Grahams Honda lead race team.I have managed to sell a few after that to some local racers and stores. I want to ramp up these parts as well....Take a look...

I'm going to enjoy watching this! :)
But I have to admit that those triple clamps could make me part with some serious cash myself. Those are simply pure eye candy. One off- they are worth a fortune?
I wont tell you guys, but there is one more custom thing on that bike Macdid not mention. Can you see it?
atleast it looks like its on there

Thats the idea ...is to kill everyone's checking account.. (LOL)... No really... i enjoy making parts for my bikes over the years and i would like to share them with other enthusiasts (I hope i spelled that right!!)
Here are some pics of footpegs on the bike to answer Gyro's inquiry.Im one step ahead of him. They are made of stainless steel, over 2" wide and are offset to the back for someone tall like my self and are as flat ( meaning as low i colud get them without going negative ) to allow for more legroom and lower center of gravity...
Enjoy.... Oh..and a pick of the cam chain tensioner installed as well..Oh also the billet shifter tip replaces the stock rubber one nicely..and does'nt wear out.
