Event: 7th Annual Harlan County Fall Crawl

in Southeast Events
Added by kyfallcrawl , Oct 11, 2013

Taking place Oct 18, 2013 through Oct 20, 2013 (Ranged Event)

Located in Harlan County, Kentucky this steep, boulder-strewn and heavily forested 4x4 park is a second home to buggies, Jeeps, Suzukis and beater trucks. It isn’t the kind of place many rigs with intact full sized doors are to be found.
The rugged terrain has plenty of tough obstacles which cover everything a serious four-wheeler could want from 25 miles of easy 4x4 trails to brutal, drivetrain damaging obstacles. Stock rigs can run those 25 miles of access trails but bear in mind, those easy trails are primarily a way to reach destination points for hard wheeling. This not yet fully developed park currently has more than 200 miles of trails.
Officially opened summer of 2005, Black Mountain is sponsored by Harlan County and run by Kentucky Mountain Crawlers. Working with the county to promote 4x4 recreation and tourism, Kentucky Mountain Crawlers is responsible for building, maintaining the trails, and organizing events. It’s not necessary to be a club member to wheel 4x4s, dirt bikes, or ATV’s at Black Mountain. This is an awesome pay-to-play park with over 7,000 acres and there is lots of room for expansion. Kentucky Mountain Crawlers says more trails are in the making. The 4,145 foot mountain is big enough to spend all day doing hill climb after hill climb and only cover half the park. If you Baja it for 20 or 30 minutes to reach the other side (which is fun in itself), that is where you’ll find the really tough obstacles.
