The Indiana Fire and Police Benefit Motocross was inspired by The Fire and Police Motocross Nationals (FPMN), and Ohio Fire & Police Benefit Motocross. Ed Wilson, a Los Angeles County firefighter, conceived the FPMN. Ed formed the FPMN to bring firefighter and law enforcement officers together for a great sporting event and to have a good time. Ed and his crew decided that they could further help the community by turning the race into a charity event. After seeing an advertisement for the FPMN, Ray Martin, an Akron, OH Firefighter, contacted Ed about starting a race in Ohio. Ed offered his advice and support and things got rolling in Ohio.
After several trips to compete in Ohio, Jason Bush, a Portage, IN Firefighter, decided it was time to start another charity race. May 7 & 8, 2006 will be the first Indiana Fire & Police MX race. Hosted by Dirt MX Race Park in Kingsbury, IN.
